Happiness is a Habit
đŽââïž Spinning Joy: How Cycling Became Our Familyâs Favorite Way to Find Happiness
For us, cycling started as weekend funâjust two little brothers on two wheels, chasing sunshine and exploring the world one neighborhood street at a time. But over time, biking became much more. It became our rhythm. Our way to connect, reflect, and build a kind of happiness that sticks with us far beyond the trail.
đ Why Riding Makes Us Happy
Thereâs something magical about hopping on a bike and pedaling into the day. The wind, the movement, the feeling of freedomâitâs like flying without leaving the ground. Every ride lifts our spirits and clears our minds, turning stress into smiles and silence into conversation.
Weâve found that cycling isnât just an activityâitâs a habit of happiness. When we set a goal (like riding 75 miles to the beach or preparing for our Mission 100 journey), each training ride becomes a celebration. We cheer each other on, keep promises to ourselves, and discover that joy lives in the effort, not just the destination.
đŽââïž Family Wheels = Family Bonds
Biking is also one of our favorite ways to be with family. We laugh, we talk, we help each other push through tough moments. Itâs a time when distractions fall away, and we focus on the simple joy of being together. Sometimes our rides turn into heart-to-heart talks. Other times we race to see whoâs fastest. Either way, weâre growing stronger as a team.
Even when the path gets steep or our legs get tired, we remind each other: âWeâve got this!â And we always do.
đ Making Happiness a Habit
Cycling taught us that happiness doesnât always happen by accidentâit can be something you create. Just like training for a big ride, you can practice feeling good. You can:
-
Set goals that excite you
-
Celebrate small wins
-
Spend time outside in nature
-
Be present with people you love
-
Move your body in ways that make you feel strong
For us, cycling is that habit. And the more we ride, the more joy we createânot just for ourselves, but for others who see whatâs possible when you commit to something bigger than fear.
âHappiness is like bikingâit gets easier when you do it often, and itâs better when youâre not riding alone.â â Ethan & Aidan
