Ethan and Aidan: Turning Family Bike Rides into World Records

When most children dream about riding their bikes to the beach, few imagine that journey leading to world records. For Ethan and Aidan, however, a simple family adventure sparked a passion that would grow into an extraordinary cycling journey.

Today, the brothers are nationally recognized youth endurance cyclists, holding 9 unique world-record categories and 12 world records combined. Their accomplishments have earned recognition throughout the cycling community while inspiring families across the country to embrace healthy, active lifestyles.

Where It All Began

At ages 7 and 8, Ethan and Aidan asked their parents a simple question:

“Can we ride our bikes to the beach?”

That request led to an ambitious family ride to the New Jersey shore, covering 77 miles from home. What started as a one-time challenge quickly evolved into a family mission built around fitness, adventure, and quality time together.

With a father who is a former track cyclist and a mother who competed as an endurance swimmer and triathlete, cycling became the perfect activity for the entire family. Today, weekends are often spent exploring new routes, participating in community fundraising rides, and creating lifelong memories on two wheels.

Record-Setting Success

The brothers have accomplished milestones that many athletes never achieve.

Among their achievements, Aidan became one of the youngest cyclists to complete a 100-mile velodrome ride, demonstrating remarkable endurance at a young age.

Together, Ethan and Aidan also became the youngest brother team to complete 100 miles in under six hours in a two-person relay, showcasing the power of teamwork and determination.

Combined, they hold:

  • 12 World Records
  • 9 Unique World Record Categories
  • Multiple records in velodrome, virtual, and relay cycling disciplines

Their success has been earned through dedication, consistent training, family support, and a shared belief that big goals are achievable regardless of age.

Riding for Something Bigger

While world records are impressive, Ethan and Aidan believe cycling can be about much more than personal achievement.

The brothers will be participating in the AACR Philadelphia Classic to raise awareness and support the mission of the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR). Through their participation, they hope to help advance cancer research and encourage healthy lifestyles for families everywhere.

Learning from Cancer Researchers

After visiting with the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) and learning about the pioneering work being conducted by researchers at the University of Pennsylvania, including cancer researcher Gregory L. Beatty, Ethan and Aidan became even more committed to promoting cancer prevention and awareness.

During their visit, they learned about the importance of healthy lifestyle choices, including:

  • Staying physically active
  • Eating healthy foods
  • Maintaining social connections
  • Receiving appropriate medical screenings

For Ethan and Aidan, cycling has become one of the most enjoyable and effective ways to put many of those healthy habits into practice.

A Message to Other Families

“We ride because we want to show other kids and families that anything is possible when you work together as a family. Cycling helps people stay healthy, spend time together, and enjoy the outdoors. It’s also good for the planet.”

— Aidan

That message has become the foundation of the brothers’ mission. Through cycling, they hope to encourage families to spend more time together, stay active, and embrace challenges that may seem impossible at first.

💪 Setbacks Make You Stronger: Our Toughest Ride Yet

Setbacks Make You Stronger, Our Toughest Ride Yet

Hi, it’s Ethan and Aidan!

We just finished our final long ride before our Mission 100 event—and wow, it did NOT go as planned. But guess what? That’s okay. Because this ride taught us something super important: setbacks don’t stop you—they make you stronger.

🚴 Late Start, Flat Tires & Hungry Riders

It started with a late departure. Packing up bikes, gear, and snacks took longer than expected. We even forgot our tools and had to turn back! Then one of our tires deflated, and Dad’s shifter jammed. We had to come up with a totally new game plan. Dad went to fix his bike, and Mom rode with us instead.

But starting late meant we got hungry fast. Real hungry. We had to stop for food while Dad rushed to catch up… only to discover his wheel was cracked and out of true. That meant one parent would drive the SAG wagon while the other rode with us. Mom hunted down a spoke wrench and brought us food.

Was it messy? Yes. Did we want to give up? Maybe for a second. Did we stop? Not a chance.

💥 Challenges Make Champions

We finished 100 miles that day. Not because everything was easy—but because we stuck together, problem-solved as a team, and never gave up.

Sometimes you’ll forget the tools. Sometimes your bike won’t cooperate. Sometimes your plan will fall apart.

But if you keep pedaling through the problems, you’ll go farther than you ever imagined.

🏁 Lessons From the Ride

  • 🚧 Setbacks are part of the story—not the end of it

  • 🤝 Teamwork makes the impossible possible

  • 💬 Talking through hard moments builds trust and strength

  • 🔧 Preparation matters… but flexibility matters more

  • 💛 Every mile teaches resilience

“We didn’t ride 100 miles just to prove we could. We rode it to show that strength comes from pushing through every challenge—together.” — Ethan & Aidan

Thanks for cheering us on. Whether you’re biking, dreaming, or chasing a goal of your own—never let the setbacks stop you. Let them build you.

Want to ride with us? Follow along as we gear up for Mission 100. This journey’s just getting started.

🚴‍♂️ Spinning Joy: How Cycling Became Our Family’s Favorite Way to Find Happiness

For us, cycling started as weekend fun—just two little brothers on two wheels, chasing sunshine and exploring the world one neighborhood street at a time. But over time, biking became much more. It became our rhythm. Our way to connect, reflect, and build a kind of happiness that sticks with us far beyond the trail.

🌟 Why Riding Makes Us Happy

There’s something magical about hopping on a bike and pedaling into the day. The wind, the movement, the feeling of freedom—it’s like flying without leaving the ground. Every ride lifts our spirits and clears our minds, turning stress into smiles and silence into conversation.

We’ve found that cycling isn’t just an activity—it’s a habit of happiness. When we set a goal (like riding 75 miles to the beach or preparing for our Mission 100 journey), each training ride becomes a celebration. We cheer each other on, keep promises to ourselves, and discover that joy lives in the effort, not just the destination.

🚴‍♂️ Family Wheels = Family Bonds

Biking is also one of our favorite ways to be with family. We laugh, we talk, we help each other push through tough moments. It’s a time when distractions fall away, and we focus on the simple joy of being together. Sometimes our rides turn into heart-to-heart talks. Other times we race to see who’s fastest. Either way, we’re growing stronger as a team.

Even when the path gets steep or our legs get tired, we remind each other: “We’ve got this!” And we always do.

😊 Making Happiness a Habit

Cycling taught us that happiness doesn’t always happen by accident—it can be something you create. Just like training for a big ride, you can practice feeling good. You can:

  • Set goals that excite you

  • Celebrate small wins

  • Spend time outside in nature

  • Be present with people you love

  • Move your body in ways that make you feel strong

For us, cycling is that habit. And the more we ride, the more joy we create—not just for ourselves, but for others who see what’s possible when you commit to something bigger than fear.

“Happiness is like biking—it gets easier when you do it often, and it’s better when you’re not riding alone.” — Ethan & Aidan
