Setbacks Make You Stronger, Our Toughest Ride Yet
Hi, it’s Ethan and Aidan!
We just finished our final long ride before our Mission 100 event—and wow, it did NOT go as planned. But guess what? That’s okay. Because this ride taught us something super important: setbacks don’t stop you—they make you stronger.
🚴 Late Start, Flat Tires & Hungry Riders
It started with a late departure. Packing up bikes, gear, and snacks took longer than expected. We even forgot our tools and had to turn back! Then one of our tires deflated, and Dad’s shifter jammed. We had to come up with a totally new game plan. Dad went to fix his bike, and Mom rode with us instead.
But starting late meant we got hungry fast. Real hungry. We had to stop for food while Dad rushed to catch up… only to discover his wheel was cracked and out of true. That meant one parent would drive the SAG wagon while the other rode with us. Mom hunted down a spoke wrench and brought us food.
Was it messy? Yes. Did we want to give up? Maybe for a second. Did we stop? Not a chance.
💥 Challenges Make Champions
We finished 100 miles that day. Not because everything was easy—but because we stuck together, problem-solved as a team, and never gave up.
Sometimes you’ll forget the tools. Sometimes your bike won’t cooperate. Sometimes your plan will fall apart.
But if you keep pedaling through the problems, you’ll go farther than you ever imagined.
🏁 Lessons From the Ride

💛 Every mile teaches resilience
“We didn’t ride 100 miles just to prove we could. We rode it to show that strength comes from pushing through every challenge—together.” — Ethan & Aidan
