Ethan and Aidan: Turning Family Bike Rides into World Records

When most children dream about riding their bikes to the beach, few imagine that journey leading to world records. For Ethan and Aidan, however, a simple family adventure sparked a passion that would grow into an extraordinary cycling journey.

Today, the brothers are nationally recognized youth endurance cyclists, holding 9 unique world-record categories and 12 world records combined. Their accomplishments have earned recognition throughout the cycling community while inspiring families across the country to embrace healthy, active lifestyles.

Where It All Began

At ages 7 and 8, Ethan and Aidan asked their parents a simple question:

β€œCan we ride our bikes to the beach?”

That request led to an ambitious family ride to the New Jersey shore, covering 77 miles from home. What started as a one-time challenge quickly evolved into a family mission built around fitness, adventure, and quality time together.

With a father who is a former track cyclist and a mother who competed as an endurance swimmer and triathlete, cycling became the perfect activity for the entire family. Today, weekends are often spent exploring new routes, participating in community fundraising rides, and creating lifelong memories on two wheels.

Record-Setting Success

The brothers have accomplished milestones that many athletes never achieve.

Among their achievements, Aidan became one of the youngest cyclists to complete a 100-mile velodrome ride, demonstrating remarkable endurance at a young age.

Together, Ethan and Aidan also became the youngest brother team to complete 100 miles in under six hours in a two-person relay, showcasing the power of teamwork and determination.

Combined, they hold:

  • 12 World Records
  • 9 Unique World Record Categories
  • Multiple records in velodrome, virtual, and relay cycling disciplines

Their success has been earned through dedication, consistent training, family support, and a shared belief that big goals are achievable regardless of age.

Riding for Something Bigger

While world records are impressive, Ethan and Aidan believe cycling can be about much more than personal achievement.

The brothers will be participating in the AACR Philadelphia Classic to raise awareness and support the mission of the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR). Through their participation, they hope to help advance cancer research and encourage healthy lifestyles for families everywhere.

Learning from Cancer Researchers

After visiting with the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) and learning about the pioneering work being conducted by researchers at the University of Pennsylvania, including cancer researcher Gregory L. Beatty, Ethan and Aidan became even more committed to promoting cancer prevention and awareness.

During their visit, they learned about the importance of healthy lifestyle choices, including:

  • Staying physically active
  • Eating healthy foods
  • Maintaining social connections
  • Receiving appropriate medical screenings

For Ethan and Aidan, cycling has become one of the most enjoyable and effective ways to put many of those healthy habits into practice.

A Message to Other Families

“We ride because we want to show other kids and families that anything is possible when you work together as a family. Cycling helps people stay healthy, spend time together, and enjoy the outdoors. It’s also good for the planet.”

β€” Aidan

That message has become the foundation of the brothers’ mission. Through cycling, they hope to encourage families to spend more time together, stay active, and embrace challenges that may seem impossible at first.
